As predicted again, we said that the price of Bitcoin would again rise once the new year came into play, as that would herald the end of some holidays, festivities and personal social gatherings. Now that the nonsense is over, it time to get back to work and just like society, Bitcoin is back at it again, with a doubling of its value against the USD. To those that took our advise and did buy in at the $500 USD mark, we commend you on your purchase. To those that would rather listen to the doomsday preachers... Well we are sorry you lost out (again).
ASIC Mining: 2014 will be the year that separates the men from the boys as far as ASIC miners go. Companies will spring up from nothing and offer amazing ASIC miners at amazing prices. As the precedence of prepay is now in play, companies will take as much as they can, before disappearing and along with it, a truckload of money. Even some established companies may consider this as their last ditch effort to capture a share of a dwindling market before succumbing to an impossible ROI figure that customers simply wont accept.
Companies that still have a shot are for now, KNCminer and Cointerra. The rest have gone dormant, many not replying to emails while others promising a test unit and never delivering. We suspect there has been failures during testing or the relevant ASIC chips from other manufacturers have not come in and therefore halted further development. Either way, we believe that the time of pre-pay for development is over and if a unit is not ready for delivery at the time of purchase, then it never will be.
Bitcoin Wallets: The most sort after theft object is the Bitcoin Wallet. Personally, our emails are overloaded with Bitcoin this and that and we know full well that those links and attachments are either keyloggers or some nasty virus to gain access to our Bitcoins.
We will say this one time now, so its up to you to listen!
Offline Bitcoin Wallets will DIE!
Offline Bitcoin Wallets are fine, as long as the user is tech savvy, has amazing anti virus protection and has setup a personal system for checks and balances when accessing their offline wallet. We doubt that even 1% of the world has those skills, so we believe (and know) that Online Wallets with managed protection will be the next big thing for Bitcoin. So far so, that we are building our own Online Wallet at our expense to prove that security when it comes to Bitcoin should be left to professionals and not the general public.
